“Migra” in Calexico arrested

Mexicali – After an investigation into drug loads detected in United States territory, investigators identified and arrested an agent employed by Customs and Border Protection assigned to the Port of Entry at Calexico who let drugs through the port in exchange for money.

Last Friday, Oscar Osbaldo Ortiz Martinez, a 30 year old resident of El Centro, California, was arrested for allowing vehicles through the port which he knew contained heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine.

Oscar Ortiz and his accomplice, Victor Manuel Silva, Jr. pled innocent to charges of conspiracy to import narcotics into the United States. Authorities determined that Ortiz received 20,000 dollars from Silva to allow the passage of a vehicle containing drugs on the 3rd of last June.

In a press conference, United States officials in San Diego announced that Oscar Ortiz was arrested last Wednesday after he accepted another 30,000 dollars payment in a parking lot at Lucky’s Supermarket in El Centro for allowing yet another vehicle to pass through the port.
