SPRING BREAK

Editor Note: I seldom venture my personal opinion(s) here in the M3 Report.
That said, due to recent major disturbing news from south of the border,
I feel compelled to advise spring breakers to stay OUT of Mexico, regardless
of how safe some travel agent may say it is there. Kidnappings and shootouts
are happening closer and closer to the U.S., and US Citizens remain a valuable
target there. Remember that they consider all Americans, indeed foreigners,
to be very wealthy. My 2½¢-af

Proceso Tegucigalpa, Honduras 3/23/14

The top article is entitled “Irregular (meaning illegal, either with false or no travel documents) transit of aliens through Honduras grows.” It explains that the traffic is due either to political conflicts elsewhere, the search for the “American Dream” or because of criminal organization operations. The “Chief of International Emigrations”, Amilcar Chavez, is quoted as saying that Honduran territory is crossed by people from diverse nations and explained that there are many people who leave African nations and that they’ve also detected Asians.

The second article, below the above and highlighted in light blue by “Proceso” in the original, reports that more than 600 Cubans have been detected in the first three months of this year and that 2,400 Cubans were found transiting through Honduras in the year 2013. In almost 100 percent of the cases their objective was to reach the United States. (Bolding emphasis by M3)

Mutilated Hondurans ask Mexico to stop harassment
Fifteen physically handicapped Hondurans are enroute to meet with the President of Mexico to ask for a “just” immigration policy for Central American emigrants in that nation. The group consists of survivors of “La Bestia,” (“The Beast”) the freight train used by thousands of Central Americans without proper documents enroute to the “American Dream” in the United States. They intend to ask the Mexican President to stop the “persecution” of Central American emigrants by Mexican officials, who estimate that some 140,000 undocumented aliens enter Mexico yearly aiming to reach the United States.
