State police were ambushed near this community, resulting in NINE officers dead and one seriously wounded.
A dismembered body was found here, with a leg in one place and other parts elsewhere. He was identified as a 28 year old man with a record for theft.
LA COFRADIA, SINALOA
Two men were found tortured and executed in an abandoned car near here. The Nissan vehicle was running when found on the property of a former water purifying business. The hands were tied and each a bullet wound to the head.
State police on patrol observed a truck with 3 subjects who opened fire on the police. After a shootout, the 3 were arrested. The truck and several weapons were seized.
TIJUANA, BAJA CALIFORNIA
There were 5 people executed in the city, including a 14 year old boy shot when his grandfather argued with a gunman, a former municipal policeman. The 10 year policeman was fired in 2002 when he was arrested in the US carrying over 5 kilos of crystal.
The 40 year old chief of this town was shot and killed on duty Monday afternoon. He was on duty in the town square when a truck of armed people came up and shot him with an AK-47.
HIDALGO COUNTY, TEXAS, US
A member of the Gulf cartel (CDG) was convicted in December 2012 of 2 counts attempted murder. He had opened fire on a deputy during a traffic stop in October 2011. He and another cartel member were attempting to kidnap 4 men. The 2 bad guys were members of the PRM or Mexican Revolutionary Party, which handles Gulf cartel ops in Texas. Sheriff Lupe Treviño noted this case and others as showing the willingness of the cartels to use violence in the US.
