Proceso Tegucigalpa, Honduras 11/23/12
Condensed Translation
A UNICEF (the U.N. Children’s Fund) official in Honduras has issued a report showing that the total of murdered youths aged 17 and under has increased 100% there over last year’s total of 947. At the current rate for the month of November this year will be closing with 2,014 victims. Most victims are killed by the use of firearms or cutting weapons. The official “lamented” the government’s “apathy” to resolve these crimes, given that no charges have been brought in 90 percent of them.

Proceso Tegucigalpa, Honduras 11/24/2012
Condensed Translation
In Miami, the “Francisco Morazan” Honduran organization has joined with a coalition of other Latino groups and has intensified its campaign to demand the prompt approval of an “integral immigration reform.” The group is collecting signatures to pressure the U.S. Congress to approve a law that would benefit 11 million undocumented persons in the United States. They aim to collect 2 million signatures from “undocumented latinos” in various states of the U.S. and present them to the Congress and the president to remind them that 14 million latinos voted for the reelection of the president and that the time has arrived for reciprocal support for the “undocumented emigrant community in the American Union.”
