A group of men came into a well known hotel here, the Costa Linda, and torched the kitchen by igniting thrown fuel. There were no injuries, only property damage.
Mexican Marines raided a house here after an anonymous tip reported strange activities there. Inside, they found a narco laboratory as well as at least 50 firearms of various calibers. They also found scales used to weigh the drugs made there.
SAN LUIS POTOSI, SAN LUIS POTOSI
Authorities rushed to the scene of two men found beheaded. The bodies were in plastic bags, with the heads in separate plastic bags.
The head of state public safety, Jorge Luis Morán Delgado, has resigned from his position due to personal reasons. State authorities denied that he resigned due to failures in his job. Two major events occurred during his time: 131 prisoners escaped from a Piedras Negras prison, and the son of a former governor was killed.
Federal police reported a shootout near the Hotel Palacio Real has killed a federal police officer and wounded two others. A Codigo Roja (Red Alert) was issued, which mobilized military and municipal forces in support.
Two executed men were found inside a vehicle, each shot in the head.
A cell of the Zetas has been arrested which is attributed with 43 executions and murders committed in the towns of Guadalupe and Juarez, but the numbers could go up to 150 victims total. Eight of the dead were kidnap victims.
ECATEPEC, STATE OF MEXICO
This past Friday, 8 bodies were found executed. In the State of Mexico, in 2012 the municipality of Ecatepec has had 78 deaths, followed by Nezahualcoyotl, with 60; Naucalpan, 40, Tlalnepantla, with 25, and Ixtapaluca, with 24.
Statistics on executions in the state of Mexico indicate that, in this state, are 438 murders in the first 10 months of the year, 69 more than in the same period of 2011, when 369 bodies were found. The bodies were naked, bound hand and foot and shot in the head.
