Two people were killed and 3 wounded when a group of masked gunmen entered a bar called Zydeco on Sunday night and opened fire.
The military has arrested the accountant for the Zetas, and the number two boss for the state. Víctor Manuel Ramírez Navarro, 36 years old and from Guerrero, was initially detained for illegally carrying a 7.62mm pistol known as a cop killer.
CIUDAD JUAREZ, CHIHUAHUA
Municipal police chief Leyzaola, in discussing the current graduating police academy of 81 officers, says the city needs at least 3,000. He said that of 2,300 applicants, only 113 were selected and just these 81 have completed the academy. “They are policemen with a new vision and training, mostly young and highly educated that distinguish the rest of the department,” he said. The department currently has about 2200 officers and with this class 2300.
BENITO JUAREZ, MICHOACAN
A narco grave has been found near here containing six bodies. One grave had 4, and another 2. Unofficial reports are that these may be missing police officers.
The state attorney general announced the seizure of two more cloned trucks made to look like Mexican Army vehicles. It was just last month when 2 cloned military-style trucks were seized near Teloloapan, Guerrero
Mexican Marines have detained 9 presumed kidnappers, 7 men and 2 women. They also seized 9 assault rifles, magazines for them, 1,050 cartridges of various calibers, military uniforms, communication equipment and marijuana.
Officers with a special unit of The state police arrested 6 people on Saturday, July 7th for drug trafficking. There were 2 adults aged 21 and 25, and 4 minors who refused to give their ages. Seized were marijuana, cocaine, rock cocaine, radios, tire deflating devices called cal-trops in the US, and a .22 caliber pistol.
