A 7 year old child watched as his mother and three others were shot and killed in front of him. He was wounded by a bullet in the stomach, but is in stable condition. Doctors and police officers are concerned with the psychological damage to the child.
ECATEPEC, STATE OF MEXICO
Two men’s bodies were found and another person was wounded here. The city of Ecatepec has the highest number of executions of any city in the State of Mexico so far this year. (The State of Mexico adjoins Mexico City.)
McALLEN, TEXAS, USA
A South Texas woman is asking the Zeta cartel to please release her husband, kidnapped from their Texas home on March 30th. The kidnapped man was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in December. He had been sentenced to 8 years in prison in 1999 for felony drug possession. She pleaded on behalf of their 3 children and herself for his return.
Mexican Army units dismantled a narco lab in El Tizate, which produced the synthetic drug (methamphetamine). No one was arrested, but numerous plastic and pewter barrels and containers with chemicals were seized or destroyed. a vehicle was also seized.
PUEBLO NUEVO, DURANGO*
The police chief here, 44 year old Jose Armando Cordero Vega, was walking down the street when he was killed by several gunshots from a passing vehicle.
The dismembered remains of a man was found here in 4 plastic bags, marked with the letter ‘Z’. This is the sixth man found in he same was. (Note: This can indicate the Zetas are taking the violence to new levels by operating in Sinaloa, which is El Chapo’s area.)
Mexican Army units located and dismantled a narco lab near here. They burned a kilo of marihuana, and seized 125 kilos de caustic soda , 800 liters of a chemical deposited in 4 plastic containers, 44 liters of another chemical in 10 plastic barrels and 141 kilograms of fertilizer. There were numerous other chemicals and synthetic drug found in large quantities and multiple containers. A reactor chimney, vehicle, and other related chemicals were seized.
