Police, a dangerous profession. A document prepared by the Mexican Attorney General says that since the beginning of Calderon’s presidency, there have been 2, 986 municipal and state police killed.
A 22 year old jewelry dealer and her 2 year old son were kidnapped on Friday while driving home. Her mother and brother were left behind. However, two men in a taxi that drove along as it was happening were both shot and killed. There has been no further word on her, leaving the family not knowing if the motive was robbery or ransom.
The charred bodies of 3 persons were found inside a burned out vehicle along a highway. The car had no signs of being in an accident.
Televisa, the largest network in the country has had another attack on one of its stations. TV Azteca had the front of the building shot up by gunmen. Mexico is considered the most dangerous country for media. Since 2000, 66 journalists have been killed and 13 are missing.
The newspaper Milenio reports that the first three months of this year had a total of 3, 138 executions. March had the most in recent months with a figure of 1,141, the highest since May 2011 when the were 1,204. One of those was the 41 year old former state Attorney General, found dead on Saturday.
A new narco banner was hung from a pedestrian bridge on Sunday, threatening different police forces and another was hung above he road to Nogales. They were from the Gente Nueva of the Sinaloa cartel.

Four men were found gunned down in the rural area, with a narco message left behind by the CJNG cartel. The four showed signs of torture, and were bound hands and feet.
ECATEPEC, STATE OF MEXICO
Five men were found shot to death in a parked vehicle after nearby residents reported gunfire to the police.
