LINARES, NUEVO LEÓN
In reponse to citizen reports, authorities have discovered 3 narco graves containing at least 8 bodies near here.
The Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) released information for the first week of this year, of their activity in the towns of Nuevo Laredo, Michael German, Reynosa, Rio Bravo, Matamoros, Victoria, Tampico and along the banks of the Rio Grande. They secured 102 rifles, two handguns, five thousand 572 cartridges, 159 magazines, a ton 540 kilos marijuana, and 15 thousand gallons of gasoline. Also seized were 29 vehicles, one of those armored , one truck, two motorcycles, 120 thousand 840 pesos in national currency. Four people were arrested.
MEXICO CITY, DISTRITO FEDERAL
Baltazar Saucedo Estrada, aka Mataperros, who is one of the leaders of the Zetas who ordered the attack to the Casino Royale, which killed 52 people, was transferred Saturday night Jan. 7, to SIEDO facilities in Mexico City. El Mataperros’ confessed to the murder of several police commanders and troops and agents in the Nuevo León.
EL WALAMO, MAZATLÁN
State police and military tracked a satellite signal of a stolen car to a rural camp. As they approached the camp, they were met with gunfire. One bad guy was killed, and 3 others escaped during the shooting. Of the stolen vehicles, some were identified with crimes, including the shooting a week before at C-4 Centracom.
Far from decreasing, disappearances continue to increase here. Official figures show that 300 has disappeared in the past 2 years, with a third of those teen agers 13 to 17 years of age.
HIDALGO DEL PARRAL, CHIHUAHUA
A man was attacked during the early hours of Sunday Jan. 8 by two men, who beheaded him.
Between Friday night and early Saturday, five human heads were found. Each was found separately and in different locations. They were in black plastic bags along with threatening messages.
CANCUN, QUINTANA ROO
State judicial police report that there were 145 homicides recorded in 6 municipalities in 2011, with most executions.
Two men were found dead Sunday, one of them dismembered. He was found dumped in plastic bags near a church. The other was found separately near the Maxitunel.
A man and womn were killed, and her male companion was gravely wounded outside of a liquor store here.

The Department of State warns U.S. citizens of the risks of terrorist activity in the Philippines.
